           First Annual Juried Exhibition

A juried photo exhibition benefitting the East Bay Center for Photography

Together with our good friends at Panorama Framing,  The East Bay Photo Collective is hosting its first-ever exhibition celebrating the work of San Francisco Bay-Area photographers. This exhibit is a benefit for the proposed East Bay Center for Photography.  Learn more about EBPCO and the East Bay Center for Photography here.

There is no topic or theme, we just want a blast of your best work!  Selected images are eligible for discounted framing from Panorama.

Eligibility

Open to all San Francisco Bay Area photographers working in digital, film and phone.  By "San Francisco Bay Area"  we mean photographers living in California, north of the Monterey-Fresno line.  Sorry Central- and So-Cal!  We'll get you next time.

Fees

$20 Standard Submission -   up to three images.  Each additional submission is $10
$45 Friend-of-EBPCO Submission - up to three images, plus a $25 donation to EBPCO!  Each additional submission is $10
$10 Reduced-price Submission - for low-income photographers, up to three images.  Each additional submission is $10.

Submissions

Submissions are through ArtCall.org.   If you are not familiar with ArtCall,  you may want to watch this video to see how to register so you can submit.
Each submission may contain up to three images.  Additional submissions may be made at a discounted price, for a maximum of 15 images per photographer. 

Your uploaded images should have a minimum of 960px on the longest side, or about 4MB in size.  Watch this video for help in resizing your images for submission.

Jury

All submissions will be judged by the East Bay Photo Collective's board of directors, plus any additional judges invited by the board.  Images will be judged on quality, composition, originality, and overall effectiveness.

Pick-up and Delivery

Pick-up and Delivery dates are as noted above.  All artwork must be picked up or shipping arrangements prepaid and prearranged by the artist at the end date of the show. EBPCO and Panorama Framing are not responsible for any artwork if unclaimed or if no arrangements have been made.

Exhibition Display Requirements

All images must be framed and ready for hanging.  All frames must have a hanging wire attached at the back. 

Maximum frame size is 20"x30".   Only one 20"x30" image is allowed per photographer.  If additional images from a photographer are selected,  maximum framed images size is 11x14.

Images selected for the show are eligible for discounted framing from Panorama Framing.

Each image must have a label on the back with the following information:

  1. Image Title

  2. Image Medium (e.g. gelatin silver print, color inkjet print)

  3. Photographer Name

  4. Photographer Email or Phone

Sales

All images may be offered for sale on a 50/50 comission basis.  If you would like your image offered for sale, you will be asked to provide a price, Tax ID information, and to sign a consigment agreement.  Sales are paid within 60 days of the end of show.   Artists may also offer editioned pieces - unframed copies of the image on display.


About East Bay Photo Collective

We are photographers in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area working together to create a community photo center, which will include a gallery, workshops, darkrooms, and other facilities.  

Our mission is to provide facilities, education, inspiration, and community to East Bay photographers, especially those who are under-served or lack access to a creative community.

About the East Bay Center for Photography

Our goal as a community is establish a public photography center in Oakland, Ca.  This center will host workshops, events and public programs, as well as offer facilities rentals.   The new center will include:

  • Gallery and community space

  • Darkrooms for black and white printing (small, medium and large format)

  • Film developing area for all formats (including cine)

  • Facilities for Pt/Pd, Cyanotype, Tintype, and other alternative and historical processes.

  • Photo studio with backgrounds and lighting

  • Film scanners

  • Digital workstations and printers

  • Classroom and theatre
